Is a multisensory, interactive, engaging, and regimented educational approach to aid in building reading readiness skills for students beginning to “read” (which requires proficiency in a combination of skills), or to strengthen the necessary skills to increase fluency and comprehension-especially once at the age of proving comprehension through independent written expression. Each session will follow a specific, tailored format and flow based on the baseline data collected for each student.
*No homework help is offered during this time and it is not aligned with any program or intervention provided at school. I will administer the CORE phonological assessment to develop a program sequence that we will follow and progress monitoring will occur every 5th week if 2 sessions are attended each week. All data collected through the assessment and our sessions will be available to you to share with your child’s school if you are attempting to obtain accommodations or modifications in the classroom or for testing or are pursuing an IEP or 504.
*A minimum of two, 50 minute sessions are required each week for Orton Gillingham Instruction.
